I finally got around to trying this, and I'm not entirely sure that it actually works. I'm beginning to think that the people reporting that it simply tricks your client are correct. Though my reported ping went from around 180 to 75-90, quartz still reports my old ping fluctuation threshold 99% of the time. I'll have to play with it more I guess, but I'm hesitant to believe it actually works as of right now. Unfortunately, a human being trying to distinguish between a difference of 75ms is as difficult as a human trying to tell the difference between 55 and 60 fps, which is nearly impossible.
